Intercom Plus Prescription System
Our Windows-based system, Intercom Plus, has revolutionized the way prescriptions are filled, allowing pharmacists to maintain a "patients first" work model. Intercom Plus integrates our technology with the task management of our pharmacy staff to ultimately allow our pharmacists more time to be familiar with patient profiles and therefore achieve better patient counseling. This creates a rewarding practice environment for pharmacists and comprehensive pharmaceutical care for our patients. When you begin your career at Walgreens, you will receive comprehensive training using our one-of-a-kind CD-ROM system.
Touch Tone Prefill System
This 24-hour automated refill system reduces pharmacists' time on the phone and improves customer service. Patients can opt to fill their prescriptions ahead of time via phone or computer, reducing time spent in the pharmacy. And, our patients love the convenience.
Strategic Inventory Management System (SIMS)
This revolutionary system optimizes inventory management, enhances customer convenience, and provides up-to-date drug interaction data in the industry.
PRESCRIBE:
The Direct Link-up Between Our Pharmacies and Doctors' Offices
This state-of-the-art communications system speeds the prescription authorization process and helps our pharmacists serve their patients faster. With the Prescribe system, doctors and pharmacists can initiate new prescriptions and authorize refills without spending too much time on the phone. Our system contacts the doctor when the pharmacy gets a prescription with no refills. If the doctor is on Prescribe, Intercom Plus sends a refill request and the message is held until the clinic retrieves it. The doctor approves, denies or changes the prescription, and sends a message back to the pharmacy. No phone calls, no time on hold, and no misinterpreted information.
Auto-Refill
This program allows patients on maintenance medications to automatically refill their prescriptions before their next fill, freeing up time for our pharmacists to talk to patients.
Rx Ready
This voice automated message calls patients when the refill is ready and waiting at the store after 24 hours. This eliminates the need for our pharmacist to call in patient reminders and frees up their time for patient counseling.
Online Clinical Pharmacology
Gives the Walgreens pharmacists a wealth of latest drug information at their fingertips. This information is updated frequently and aids our pharmacists in counseling patients and researching drugs.
